Family is hard to define. It can be a family of one of a family of 15. It can be biological. Or a group of close friends. Family relationships can be close but they can also be complicated. Join The Desert Sun and our partner, the University of California Riverside-Palm Desert graduate program for creative writing and writing for the performing arts, for a night dedicated to family.

ABOUT COACHELLA VALLEY STORYTELLERS PROJECT:
By creating a space where neighbors and notables can share first-person stories, this project explores the importance of the personal narrative as a means for connection. As Americans identify in increasingly complex ways religiously, racially and culturally, there's a growing appetite for sharing, and hearing individual stories with universal themes and lessons.
