Dear Storytelling fan,

The Greenville Storytellers Project event "How Greenville Became Home" scheduled for May 12 at the Comedy Zone has been cancelled.

As a precaution, NEWSROOM has made this decision to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in our community. We are taking these steps out of an abundance of caution.

Our newsroom is thankful so many people have chosen to share their evenings with us. Based on information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we think this is right for you, and for the journalists and community members who bring you these stories.

HOME

Whether you are a longtime resident or moved  here in the last year, we will explore how Greenville became home and how that has changed your life.

The Greenville Storytellers project puts local people on stage to talk honestly about their lives. Their stories inspire us, connect us, make us laugh — and, often, they explore life’s more complicated truths. We do this with the goal of promoting empathy, understanding and love for people whose stories are different than our own.

You can listen or watch other storytelling events across the country here:  https://www.storytellersproject.com/watch-listen/
